Marie Skłodowska–Curie Fellowship

This year I found out that I had been awarded a Marie Skłodowska–Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship under the Horizon Europe programme. The fellowship funds the project:

Dwarf galaxies in context: connecting their physical & dynamical properties with the cosmic web
Project number: 101209580

to be carried out in the Astrophysics Group at the University of Surrey, UK starting early in 2026.

MSCA fellowships are highly competitive EU awards designed to support cross‑border, cross‑sector, and interdisciplinary research. In my case, the fellowship supports a two‑year programme exploring the connection between low‑mass dwarf galaxies and the cosmological environment.

Project aims

The project focuses on:

• Connecting the physical properties of dwarf galaxies (structure, star formation, colour) to the cosmic web environments they inhabit.
• Using high‑resolution zoom‑in simulations to model galaxies and their surroundings concurrently, without losing the large‑scale context.
• Coupling zoom‑in simulations to advanced hydrodynamical models developed by the EDGE Collaboration, linking gas cycling and star formation to cosmological structure.

This work builds on my previous research, and aims to provide a more unified picture of dwarf galaxy evolution ”in context”.

The fellowship is hosted by the Astrophysics Group at the University of Surrey, working closely with:

The award provides dedicated funding to pursue the CWEBDWARFS project, and I hope it will be the launchpad for strong collaborative efforts in the future!
